ROBERT ANDERSON: A lot of people are concerned that if they file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, they're going to lose everything: their house, their car, their belongings. And so what we tell them is that they're not going to, in fact, lose those. We can usually protect the things that they own by way of exemptions.

ROBERT ANDERSON: A Chapter 7 proceeding allows a person to get relief from their debt and as well, protect assets that they own.

ROBERT ANDERSON: Most types of consumer debt are discharged or forgiven in a bankruptcy. Between Mr. Murphy and I, we have a collective 50 years experience representing people in bankruptcy cases. I've represented people in every age group and from every socioeconomic bracket, all the way from doctors and semi-wealthy folks all the way down to minimum wage people that get into financial difficulty.

ROBERT ANDERSON: Many of our clients feel ashamed or a bit concerned about the fact that they're going to have to file a bankruptcy. And we try to help people understand that there's nothing to be ashamed about, it's simply a tool that can help them get a fresh start.
